In Episode 5, we talk about the gap between celebrating originality and living with it - from childhood classrooms and unusual career paths to corporate scripts, startups, America versus Europe, and the tension between safety, order and freedom. The conversation is not about rebellion for its own sake. It is about where creativity is genuinely welcomed, where systems need consistency, and why unconventional ideas can be easier to admire after they have already succeeded.
Technology keeps making work faster, but it doesn't seem to be giving us more time. We compare two very different relationships with screens one built around screen-heavy work and constant questions, the other more naturally pulled toward books, paper, walks and small offline moments and ask what balance looks like when being online is part of the job.
We started with the question everyone seems to be asking: Is AI going to kill us?
But the conversation quickly became less about a future superintelligence and more about what AI is already changing around us.
One of us works extensively with AI and remains surprisingly optimistic after seeing both how capable and how unreliable it can still be. The other is more concerned about privacy, oversharing, dependence, manipulation and how quickly we are allowing AI into everyday life.
So instead of trying to predict the end of humanity, we ended up asking something more immediate:
We already knew how to share a life. We assumed that meant we'd know how to create together too.
Then filmmaking introduced us to a completely different side of each other. From blunt instructions and misunderstandings to trust, clear roles, technical responsibilities, and a working language we had to build from scratch.
When they first met, he thought she was unlike anyone he had ever known. She was not even sure his kind of life was one she wanted.
More than a decade later, they’re married, working together and still discovering that they can look at the same landscape, taste the same meal or live through the same moment and experience it completely differently.
So how well can you ever really know the person beside you?
